The President

A Note From The President

Roy Mathews

Who Will Hear the Call to Go?

A Holy God cannot associate Himself with anything unholy. In order to accomplish His plans and purposes, He uses people who are free from uncleanness – sanctified by the blood of His spotless Lamb.  This principle can be seen throughout the Word of God. A classic example that comes to my mind is that of Isaiah, recorded in Chapter 6 of his book. There it says in verse 8, “he heard the voice of the Lord.” It is quite significant that he heard it after he was cleansed from his uncleanness. It is noteworthy that the Lord was not speaking directly to Isaiah, but he overheard the voice of Adonai, the supreme, sovereign God when he was in His presence. It is expected of everyone who has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, to hear His voice and act in obedience to it in conscious freedom. He will not force anyone, but it is the responsibility of all the chosen ones. While calling His disciples, Jesus never forced anyone as He only said, ‘follow me.’ But there was an inherent power in those words. When we remain in His presence with a submissive attitude, we too can hear Him saying, “whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” In the case of Isaiah, he responded without any reluctance, “here am I; send me.” We are commissioned to reach out to everyone (make disciples of all the nations Matt. 28:19), even the ones who are at the hedges (to the end of the earth Acts. 1:8). God uses men for the proclamation of the gospel instead of angels. He is still in need of sanctified men to go to the hedges and continue with the work our forefathers carried out faithfully. At BBI, gripped by Calvary’s love, we are engaged in the task of equipping young men to go out and be the messengers of the glorious gospel to the lost world. As of September 2022, BBI graduates were used by God to establish 131 local assembly testimonies. As I conclude this note, I solicit your continued prayers and support for this ministry and become a partner in this great task of fulfilling the desire of our Master. Let us sharpen our ears to hear the voice of the Lord.
