ADMISSION NOTICE – 2026
Brethren Bible Institute (BBI) is a recognized and distinctive theological institution dedicated to advanced biblical studies and mission field training. The Institute seeks to prepare men and women for informed, faithful, and effective Christian service, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the life of the Church and the mission of God in India.
As a specialized ministry of the Brethren Assemblies, BBI is committed to nurturing Christ-like character, fostering spiritual maturity, and empowering students to serve effectively in church and society.

Academic Programmes Offered
Residential Programmes
- Certificate in Theology (C.Th.): BBI offers a Certificate in Theology programme in English medium for those who desire a foundational understanding of the Word of God. Candidates who are in full fellowship of a Brethren assembly and having a genuine desire for learning the Word of God are preferred for admission.
- Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.): BBI offers a three-year Bachelor of Theology programme in English medium. Candidates who are in full fellowship of a Brethren assembly, with Plus Two or equivalent qualification and having genuine desire for learning the Word of God especially committed for the Lord’s work are preferred for admission.
- P.G. Programmes: BBI offers a two-year residential Master of Biblical Studies (M.B.S.) programme, a two-year residential Master of Divinity (M.Div.) programme and a three-year residential Master of Theology in Christian Theology (M.Th.) programme. Those who have passed B.Th. or its equivalent with C+ (75% Marks) may apply for these programmes. Those who have passed a secular degree with a second class may also apply for the P.G. programmes.
Distance Education Programmes
To help those who are desirous of getting theological education by doing correspondence courses, we offer distance education facilities through which B.B.S., M.B.S., M.Div. and M.Th. can be acquired. This is a blessing for those who are not able to join theological institutions, enabling them to acquire theological education along with their other occupations. This facility is being used by many believers of the diaspora.
Applications are invited from born again believers (both male & female) for admission to the following Distance Education courses.
- Bachelor of Biblical Studies (B.B.S.): Qualification: A pass in Plus Two or equivalent. Duration: 3 years.
- Master of Biblical Studies (M.B.S.): Qualification: A secular degree in any field OR Mature candidates (25 years and above) without a secular degree can be admitted after passing an entrance examination in the following areas: i. Bible Knowledge, ii. Christian Experience, iii. Proficiency in English Language. Duration: 2 years.
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.): Qualification: A Bachelors Degree in Theology, or a secular Bachelors Degree with theological education. Duration: 2/3 years.
- Master of Theology in Systematic Theology (M.Th.): Qualification: B.D. / M.B.S. / M.Div. / a Secular Master’s degree / a Professional Degree with good academic records. Duration: 2 to 3 years.
Admission Eligibility
Applicants for undergraduate programmes must be born-again, baptized, and committed brethren who have successfully completed Plus Two or an equivalent qualification. Applicants for postgraduate programmes must possess a recognized theological or secular undergraduate degree.
Married couples will also be admitted to the residential programme with separate family accommodation while pursuing theological studies.
Academic Calendar and Application Deadlines
- Commencement of the next academic session: May 1, 2026
- Final date for submission of online applications (Residential Programmes): April 2, 2026
(Applications received after this date will not be considered for the forthcoming academic year.)
- Applications for distance education programmes are accepted throughout the year.
Medium of Instruction
All Academic Programmes are conducted in English.
